Town of Henry

 

 

    The January 10, 2005 meeting of the Henry Trustees was held at 7 o’clock p.m. at the Finance Office.  President Gordon Van Sickle called the meeting to order with Trustees Lindy Swedeen and Don Larson present along with Finance Officer, Judy Kos.

   The minutes of the last meeting were read and were approved by motion of Larson and second of Swedeen.  The liquor profits for December were Henry Bar, 278.74, 212 One Stop, 378.71, and Halfway Cafe, 586.95.  The lottery profits were Henry Bar, 96.78 and 212 One Stop, 35.49.

    The following claims were submitted for payment:

General Fund: Watertown Public Opinion, proc. 76.35; Northwestern, elec. city building, 121.58 and street lights 572.62, SD Municipal League, dues, 326.29; SD Finance Offices Assn. Dues, 20.00; Dacotah Insurance, policy, 5,742.00 and Dacotah Bank, box rent, 17.00.

Water Fund: Clark Rural Water, Dec. 1,281.25.

Sewer Fund: Dacotah Insurance, policy, 400.00; Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources, dues, 50.00 and Northwestern, elec. 50.40.

Liquor Fund: Sodak, 2,005.79; Johnson Brothers, 2,184.77; Ellwein Brothers, 4,917.05 and Carlson Dist. 2,210.90.

   First Reading was given to Ordinance 216, an ordinance amending Ordinance 106 in regard to moving houses out of Henry.  The second reading will be held on February 7, 2005.

   Motion by Swedeen and seconded by Larson to accept the yearly maintenance rates for blading and snow removal submitted by Codington County Highway Department and also submission of billing to the Town be done on a quarterly basis.  Motion carried.

   Discussion was held on garbage service billing.  No action taken.

   The summer recreation program and summer maintenance workers were discussed but no action taken.

   This concluded all business and motion for adjournment was made by Larson and seconded by Swedeen.  Motion carried.

Salaries for Henry Employees

Fire Chief, $100.00 per year, Sewer maintenance worker, $200.00 per month for first 20 hours and $8.50 for each additional hour; water and general maintenance worker $8.50 per hour and $200.00 per year for water certification; finance Officer, $650.00 per month plus $25.00 per meeting; Trustees, $40.00 per month; President of the Board, $100.00 per year; and summer recreation and maintenance worker’s $25.00 per game and salaries to be determined in the spring based on experience and Community Emergency  Management Director, $100.00 per month and $50.00 per month expense.
