Lucille (Mrs. Martin) H. (Boehnke) Lohmiller, 89, Watertown, Wis., formerly of Henry, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in a care center at Watertown, Wis.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Watertown, S.D., with the Rev. Eric Hartzell, Lucille’s son-in-law, officiating. Music will be provided by organist Barbara Hartley.

Burial will be in the Lorinda Cemetery, Henry. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jon Gephart, Nathan Hartzell, Tom Engelbrecht, Troy Schlicker, Jason Lohmiller and Tyler Schumacher. Honorary pallbearers will be her other grandsons, Brian Gephart, Scott Gephart, Jesse Hartzell, David Hartzell, Ben Hartzell, Todd Engelbrecht, Zach Schlicker and Corey Lohmiller.

Visitation will be in the Crawford Funeral Chapel at Watertown today (Monday) from 4 to 7 p.m. and will continue Tuesday prior to the services in the church. The family is requested to meet in the church Tuesday by 10:30 a.m. to attend the services.

She was born Nov. 22, 1918, on a farm near Henry to John G. and Ella A. (Ulbricht) Boehnke. She attended grade school at North Graceland and graduated from Henry High School in 1936. She continued her education and earned a teaching degree from Mankato State College in Minnesota. She taught school for three years in Minnesota and four years in Watertown, S.D. While teaching in Henry, she earned her bachelor of science degree from Northern State College in Aberdeen.

She married Martin Lohmiller June 14, 1947, in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Henry. She continued teaching in Henry for 18 years, retiring in 1982. From 1983 to 2001, she and her husband spent the winter months in Arizona. The couple moved to Watertown, Wis., after selling their farm in 2000. They were able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this past summer.

She was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married.

Survivors include her husband, Martin of Watertown, Wis.; their six children, Ruth and her husband Don Gephart of St. Joseph, Mich., Delora and her husband Eric Hartzell of Georgetown, Texas, Gloria and her husband Paul Engelbrecht of Yorkville, Ill., Joyce and her husband Wayne Schlicker of Lake City, Minn., Rick and his wife Sue Lohmiller of Thornton, Colo., and Beth and her husband Ray Schumacher of Johnson Creek, Wis.; 29 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Anita and her husband Carlos Abraham of Hazel; and one brother, Bob and his wife Bonnie Boehnke of Watertown.
