I (Barry) live in Louisville now and my two older brothers live in the Indiana suburbs. My brother Roger was born in Watertown.
Sadly, my father died of a stroke in 1970. My mother died in 1978. Prior to Henry he was superintendent in
Watertown, SD. My father
was also a superintendent in Garden City for several years. After
leaving SD he was superintendent in Eau Claire, WI. He then became an Executive for the Boy Scouts. He traveled to Canton IL. (near Peoria) and
finally to New Albany IN. (the Indiana suburbs of Louisville). In addition to being superintendent my
father also taught Biology, Algebra, Geometry and Pre-Flight.
(While in Henry) He taught Physical Education and
coached the boys basketball team. He
was the advisor for the school newspaper and presumably the yearbook. Talk
about a guy who could multi-task! I
have a copy of the 1945 yearbook in my possession. The yearbook includes personal information on seniors like:
favorite songs, "pet phrases", etc.
It's pretty sweet.
