Relatives
and friends from states including, Utah, California, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota,
and South Dakota
gathered this past weekend at the community center for a Swedeen
family reunion and to celebrate Arlen Swedeen’s
birthday. On Saturday evening, the families and local friends enjoyed a dance
with music provided by family members and members from a band that Arlen
previous had been a member of.
Joan
Boehnke attended the lunch/Bingo fundraiser for
Ashley Lukkes and Whitney Vos
in Clark Sunday afternoon.
Erin
Bruns of Lake
Preston arrived at the
Wendell Bruns home on Friday and will spend the week.
Amber Bruns of Mitchell will spent one evening with
the Bruns.
Gary
and Karen Hansen of Chatfield, MN,
Terry and Diane Boyd and Gordon and Loydeen Van
Sickle celebrated the 63rd wedding of anniversary of Harold and
Jeanette Hansen of Watertown
with supper out in Henry Saturday evening.
Donna
Kittelson spent Saturday at the Bryan Wientjes home in Watertown.
Wilbur and Marlys Johnson of Strandburg
and Loretta Orman of Milbank were Saturday morning
coffee guests at the home of Terry and Judy Kos.
Shannon
and Donna Bruns of Watertown and daughters Sammi
and Sara brought
a
cook out supper to the Wendell Bruns home Sunday
evening.
Lois
Schoepp called on Dorothy Paulsen on Thursday
evening.
Sharon
Burchatz reported that the ShaRon
Mini Ranch had a miniature colt born on Memorial Day that they named Liberty. The ironic part of the birth is the there was
a colt born on St. Patrick’s Day and was named Lucky and the other colt was
born on May Day and was named Mayjor.
Monday
evening, Joan Boehnke attended the meeting of the
Courier Classics
4-H Club in Clark.
Terry
and Judy Kos attended the Friday evening performance of the Johnny Cavelle Dance Recital at the D.D. Miller Auditorium in Watertown. Their
granddaughter, Kayla DeJong was a member of the recital.
Dick
and Judy Keyes of Texas, Jan Sharp of Watertown and Jerry and Carol O’Neill had
Sunday morning breakfast together in
Henry before the Keyes’ continued their way to Oregon.
Gayle
Swenson of Watertown
spent Monday afternoon with Alice Bruns, following supper with the Bruns
she attended the Monday evening ball game
in
which her grandson will play.
Sharon
Burchatz, Vickie, Jordan and Kayla
Burchatz all of Watertown and Donna Kittelson
attended the Friday evening Johnny Cavelle Dance
recital
at
the D. D. Miller Auditorium. Of special interest to the Burchatz’ was Meghan Buhler, girlfriend of Jordan Burchatz. Meghan graduated this year from the school.
Floyd
and Donna Kittelson attended the Sunday morning Vacation
Bible School
program at the Vienna
Town Hall. Of special
interest to the Kittelsons were Savanna and Maggie Hovde. Floyd remained for the pot luck dinner following the
program.
Donna
Kittelson attended the Sunday bridal shower for Christen Reettering
and Chad Clausen at the home of Susan Crawford in Watertown. Linda Rakness
assisted Susan in hosting the shower.
Phyllis Ptak also attended the shower.
