Henry News – May 5, 2008

 

 

We can not begin to list all of the local and area residents that attended the visitation and funeral services for Pat Maynard.  All we can say is there has been an outpouring of love and respect shown by local and area residents to the Maynard family these past few days.

 

Tim and Lori Page recently attended the 25th anniversary of Ron and Kelly German at Derby Downs near Watertown.

 

Hayley and Travis Goodall spent Thursday with their Grandma, Roxanne Geiger.

 

Joe, Nicole and Karli Sharp were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Danny and Bonita Sharp.  Karli remained and spent the afternoon with Grandma and Grandpa.

 

Barb and Jenna Harley went to Brookings Saturday afternoon to attend celebrations honoring SDSU graduates John Boehnke, son of Arlen and Joan Boehnke and Darin Wiedebush, son of Randy and Carol Wiedebush of Mansfield.

 

Kayla, Connor and Adam DeJong were Saturday evening overnight guests at the home of their grandparents, Terry and Judy Kos.

 

Darlene Audus of Clark and Myron and Diane Eidsness attended the Henry School Concert for grades 6-12 on Friday evening.

 

Arlen Swedeen was a Saturday evening visitor at the Joe and Elsie Young home.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger were Friday evening supper guests at the home of Kelby and Toni Goodall.

 

Calvin and Lois Schoepp attended the rodeo held at the Beef Complex on the Fair Grounds in Huron on Sunday.  Their granddaughter, Casey Miller of Iroquois took part in the rodeo.

 

Erin Bruns of Lake Preston arrived at the Wendell Bruns home on Friday. She and Sarah Bruns celebrated joint birthdays with Sunday dinner at the Wendell Bruns home. Joining in the celebration were Shannon, Donna and Sammi Bruns, Ashley Bruns, Karyn and Kendra Christensen all of Watertown.

 

Friday evening, John, Joan and Stephanie Boehnke enjoyed supper out in Brookings.  Joan and Stephanie spent the night, preparing for John’s reception the next day.

 

On Saturday morning, John Boehnke graduated from SDSU.  Those attending the graduation ceremony included Bob Boehnke and Terry and Ruth Boehnke of Watertown, Dave and Annette Boehnke of Clark, Arlen, Joan and Stephanie Boehnke of Henry.  Joined them later at John’s reception at the Staurolite Inn in Brookings included Adam and Laci Hartley, Brodie, Aubrie and Tate, Barb Hartley and Doug and PJ Blue and children of Henry, Jenna Hartley of Watertown, Lori and Bailey Hyland of Ramona and Andy and Tami Boehnke of Sioux Falls.

 

Diane and Kailey Eidsness held a rummage sale in Clark on Saturday to raise money for Kailey’s European concert tour next summer with the Midwest Ambassadors of Music.

 

Glen and Connie Wilson and Fain and Roxanne Geiger enjoyed supper out in Henry Saturday evening.

 

Lori Hyland and Bailey of Ramona were Friday overnight guests at the home Lynn and Barb Harley.

 

Jackie and Jackson McNeil of Warner spent Sunday night at the Floyd and Donna Kittelson home. On Monday, Jackie went on to Sioux Falls for an appointment and Jackson spent the day with Grandma Donna.

 

Bonita Sharp attended the State Convention of the SDASCOE held Friday and Saturday at the Watertown Event Center.

 

Our sympathy is extended to Arlene Sharp upon the loss of her sister, Norma Morris of Watertown. Arlene has had the misfortune of losing two sisters in the past three weeks. Members of the Sharp family attended the visitation and funeral services on Wednesday evening and Thursday.

 

Clay and Aimee Bastian of Brookings, Matt and Missy Bastian of Milbank and Emily Bastian of Mitchell spent the weekend at the Ron and Peggy Bastian home.

 

Saturday afternoon Gordon and Loydeen Van Sickle visited their new grandson, Nickolas Gordon Van Sickle at the home of his parents, Troy and Sandra Van Sickle in Watertown.

 

Gene and Louise Wilson and Fain and Roxanne Geiger enjoyed a grill out at the Glen and Connie Wilson home Sunday.

 

Donna Kittelson visited Phyllis Kittelson at her Lake Kampeska home on Sunday. Phyllis is recovering from knee surgery.
