Congratulations to Alexia O’Neill, daughter of  Terry and Angela O’Neill, for winning her division of the 2008 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship Contest held in Watertown on Sunday. Alexia will now go on to regional competition.

 

Congratulations also go out to Shantel Gassman for receiving first place in the Voice of Democracy contest. Voice of Democracy is a written and oral contest for freshmen through seniors. The contest is entered by students for several area schools.

 

Terry Kos was a Wednesday dinner guest at the Wilbur and Marlys Johnson home in Strandburg on Wednesday.

 

Donna Kittelson joined Ruth Roe for dinner out in Hazel on Monday.

 

Ronnie and Jennifer Briggs and family of Watertown were Saturday afternoon callers at the Cokey Johnson home.

 

Jean Lian of Garden City joined Joe and Elsie Young out for dinner Wednesday in Henry.

 

Ron and Pearl Paulson and Laurie Maag of Florence were Thursday afternoon callers at the Dale and Ruth Bludorn home.

 

Jean Strohfus of Watertown and Ann Galbraith of Bryant and Donna Kittelson enjoyed supper out together on Tuesday evening.

 

Danny and Bonita Sharp called on Betty Keyes in Clark Monday morning.

 

Bret, Karen, John and Liz Henricks, rural Waverly and Terry and Judy Kos were Sunday dinner guests at the Brian and Kathy DeJong home in Watertown Sunday.  The families celebrated Karen’s birthday.

 

Floyd and Donna Kittelson watched the Clark Comet girls play basketball in Webster Thursday evening.  Their granddaughter, Stephanie Wookey is a member of the Clark team.

 

Cokey Johnson visited her mother, Agnes Opdahl in Hayti Sunday afternoon.

 

Floyd and Donna Kittelson went to the Watertown Arrows and Brookings Bobcat basketball game on Monday evening. On Friday and Saturday evening they were joined by Dave and Jackie McNeil and family of Warner and Cindy Wientjes of Watertown to watch the Watertown Arrow basketball games in Watertown.  The McNeil family remained overnight at the Kittelson home on Friday and Saturday evening and returned to their home on Sunday.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger were Thursday evening supper guests at the Connie (Bakken) Norwell home in Henry.

 

Ron and Peggy Bastian and Clay Bastian spent the weekend at the Boyd Parsons home near Phillip. Eric Bastian accompanied the Bastians to Phillip and remained for a longer visit.

 

Vince and Shirley Flemming of Florence called on Dale and Ruth Bludorn Saturday afternoon.

 

Several residents attended funeral services for Lucille Lohmiller held Tuesday in Watertown.  Lucille will be remembered for being a long teacher within the Henry School System.
