The Burchatz families were among those that helped Dayne Waldner-Plunkett celebrate his first birthday on Saturday evening.

 

Hayley and Travis Goodall spent Tuesday with their grandmother, Roxanne Geiger.

 

Barb Hartley and Joan Boehnke attended funeral services Saturday afternoon in Eureka for Viola Woehlhaff, mother of Annette Boehnke.  Other family members attending were Bob and Bonnie Boehnke and Terry and Ruth Boehnke of Watertown, and Carlos and Anita Abraham of Hazel.  Mrs. Woehlhaff was also the mother of Rick Woehlhaff of Garden City.

 

A large crowd attended the 125th anniversary of the Henry United Methodist Church on Sunday. Former pastors, Marion Gabel, Rochester, MN, Duane Ferrie, Lamar’s, IA, and Lyla Sloat, Redfield, SD were among those in attendance. Several pulpit supply and lay pastors also attended the celebration. The Rev. Dick Boyd who is now serving at First Methodist in Sioux Falls also attended and brought words of remembrance. The morning began with a morning social followed by the worship service and ended with a pot luck dinner.

 

Vickie Burchatz and Cindy Wientjes of Watertown, Jackie McNeil, Warner, Cheryl Hovde, rural Vienna and Kathy Wookey of Clark flew to Arizona to spend time with their dad, Jack Berens. Mr. Berens passed away shortly after their arrival.

 

Nicky Watson and Bonita Sharp enjoyed lunch out together on Monday and celebrated Bonita’s birthday.

 

Vickie and Kayla Burchatz and Lindsey Jennings of Watertown and Donna Kittelson attended the volleyball game at Lake Preston on Monday evening.

 

Wednesday Troy Gortmaker of Rapid City visited at the Fain and Roxanne Geiger and Kelby and Toni Goodall homes.

 

Calvin and Lois Schoepp attended the volleyball games at Great Plains Lutheran in Watertown on Saturday. Their granddaughter, Casey Miller played on the winning DeSmet team.

 

Arlen and Joan Boehnke attended the Thrivent Financial annual meeting, supper and workshop in Watertown on Sunday.

 

Kayla Burchatz and Donna Kittelson were Saturday overnight guests at the Bryan Wientjes home.

 

Bret and Karen Henricks, John and Liz of rural Watertown and Kathy DeJong, Kayla, Connor and Adam visited at the Terry Kos home on Sunday following the Methodist Church services.

 

Dorothy Paulsen and Lois Schoepp attended the Friday evening Community Concert in Watertown.

 

Stephanie Pickrel of Watertown and John Heber of Redfield spend time at the Burchatz farm this past week and worked with the quarter horse colts.

 

Earl and Alyssa Rhody and Tierra of Clear Lake and Kelby and Toni Goodall, Hayley and Travis were Saturday evening upper guests at the home of their parents, Fain and Roxanne Geiger.  Hayley Goodall went home with the Rhodys and returned to her Henry home on Sunday.

 

Dave, Mara and Brenna McElroy of Sioux Falls visited Don and Rose McElroy on Wednesday.  They also returned to their home on Wednesday.

 

Wes and Betty Holida of Naples called on Arlen Swedeen this past week.

 

This past week the Henry Fire Department was called to the Norman Alexander farm Friday to help extinguish a baler fire.  The baler was a total lost along with one bale of hay.  On Wednesday evening the fire department was called to the Jim Owen farm where a pickup had started on fire, that too was a total loss.

 

Bonita Sharp met with former Henry resident, Patty Blue of Yale and her sisters in Watertown on Friday evening.

 

Kayla Burchatz spent Sunday afternoon at the Floyd and Donna Kittelson home.  Maggie Hovde of rural Vienna was a Sunday evening supper guest.

 

Calvin and Lois Schoepp visited Morris Van Sickle at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown on Sunday. Later they joined Eleanor Van Sickle and Esther Ness for dinner out. Following the dinner they called on Doris Coyle at her apartment at Sunchase Apartments in Watertown.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger were Sunday breakfast guests at the Kelby Goodall home.

 

Joe and Elsie Young called on Jean Lian Tuesday and helped her celebrate her birthday.  Later they called on Treva Headley.
