Henry News – August 6, 2007

 

 

Bret, Karen, John and Liz Henricks, rural Waverly, Brian, Kathy, Kayla and Adam DeJong, Watertown and Terry and Judy Kos met Tom Kos in Watertown on Tuesday evening for supper.  Tom was en route to Wahpeton, ND for his work with Cargill.  He returned to Henry on Sunday evening and spent the evening before returning to Omaha.

 

Joan and Stephanie Boehnke attended Potato Day in Clark on Saturday.

 

Ken and Sally Luvaas were Wednesday evening visitors at the Fain and Roxanne Geiger home.

 

Betty Keyes of Clark and Bonita Sharp called on Arlene Keyes at her apartment on Saturday morning.  Additional guests were Marcia Hamner of Wheaton, MN and Vicky Poston of North Carolina.

 

Bryan, Brett, Tiffany and Tasha Vohlken of Estelline recently spent several days at the Ron and Sharon Burchatz home. There parents, Lyle and Angela Vohlken and grandparents, Alvin and Carleen Anderson also of Estelline came on Sunday and enjoyed supper with the Burchatz.  Addition visitors at the Burchatz home were Dean, Stacy and Chreanna Plunkett, Shelly and Dillon Root, Brandon Burchatz and friend, Justin and Stephanie Pickrel.

 

Myron, Diane and Laura Eidsness attended a reception at the Governor’s Residence in Pierre on Wednesday.  The occasion was to honor Laura as a Dakota Corps Scholar. Other scholarship recipients were presented with scholarship certificates.

 

Arlen, Joan and Stephanie Boehnke enjoyed supper out in Henry Saturday night.

 

Calvin and Lois Schoepp visited Morris and Eleanor Van Sickle at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown on Saturday.  Eleanor is recovering for knee surgery.

 

Hayley and Travis Goodall spent Saturday evening with their grandparents, Fain and Roxanne Geiger.

 

Brian and Kathy DeJong and family were Sunday afternoon visitors and supper guests at the home of Terry and Judy Kos.

 

Joan and Stephanie Boehnke helped clean up the fairgrounds Sunday in Clark in preparation for 4-H Achievement Days.

 

Rick, Vickie and Kayla Burchatz of Watertown and Donna Kittelson attended the 34th Annual High School Honors Choir Concert in Brookings Friday evening. Jordan Burchatz was chosen as a member of the choir this year.  Each year 150 students are selected to participate in the choir. Two students were chosen from the Watertown School.

 

Karli Sharp spent the weekend with her grandparents, Danny and Bonita Sharp.

 

The Joel Montgomery family is enjoying the company of Joel’s father, Tom Montgomery and brother, Tom Montgomery. The Montgomerys are from Florida and will be spending a few days in South Dakota.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger were Saturday evening visitors at the Ken and Sally Luvaas home.

 

Jim and Ardis Henning, Jack and Marilyn Henning and Calvin and Lois Schoepp enjoyed listening to the Gatlin Brothers concert in Watertown Saturday evening.

 

Earl and Alyssa Rhody and Tierra and Shannon DeBoer of Clear Lake, Kelby and Toni Goodall and family and Fain and Roxanne Geiger attended the Gortmaker family reunion in Miller on Sunday.  They also called on Louie and Mardella Gortmaker before returning home.

 

Danny and Bonita Sharp called on Arlene Sharp on Sunday afternoon.  Debbie Sharp of Watertown and Cecelia Brownell were also visitors at the Sharp home.

 

Gordon and Loydeen Van Sickle were Sunday afternoon callers at the Joel Montgomery home. Evening visitors were Helen Van Sickle and Linda Page of Watertown.

 

Sharon Burchatz recently visited with Shirley Gabert and Al Benson at the Ramunda Ranch near Lake Pelican.

 

Gilbert and Joan Kittelson, Albert and Gail Kittelson and Floyd and Donna Kittelson attended the 31st annual Muller family reunion to past weekend at Memorial Park.

 

Mike Perrion is now residing in the home formerly occupied by Joan Warnock. Mr. Perrion is teaching in the Henry School system. Also a new resident in Henry is Brian Sieh. He has purchased the Jesse Monnens home and is the Superintendent of the Henry School. We would like to welcome these new residents to Henry.
