Wendell and Alice Bruns drove to Mitchell and Lake Preston on Wednesday and picked up their granddaughters, Amber Bruns and Erin Bruns. While in Mitchell they had lunch with Wendell’s cousin, Vance and Irene McPeek.

 

Joan Boehnke worked in the lunch stand for the 4-H Rodeo in Clark Saturday morning.

 

Chris Soderlund of the Twin Cities is now making his home with his parents, Mark and Arlet Soderlund.

 

Roxanne Geiger was a Monday evening supper guest of Toni Goodall and family.

 

Calvin Schoepp attended the State Softball tourney in Huron on Saturday.  On Sunday both Calvin and Lois attended the tourney and watched their granddaughter, Lindsey Miller play ball.

 

Former baby sitting children of Ruth Bludorn joined together for a cook-out at the Dale and Ruth Bludorn home on Thursday evening. Enjoying the annual event were Glenda Knuth, Stacia, Melinda and Dean from Hartford, SD, Sherrie Sumner, Shelby, Tory and Trent, Julie Hintz, Kaitlan Hannah and Treyton all of Florence and Laurie Maag, Ashley and Joe from Wallace.

 

Terry Kos attended the Johnson-Holstein family reunion at LaBolt on Saturday.

 

Donna Bruns and daughters, Sammi and Sarah enjoyed supper and swimming on Thursday with the Wendell Bruns. On Saturday they returned along with Karyn Christianson of Watertown and helped the Bruns celebrate Amber Bruns birthday.

 

Kelby Goodall, Fain Geiger and George Heustess returned home on Tuesday afternoon after helping to curtail the fire at Nemo, SD. The families all enjoyed supper together in the evening.

 

Dr. Ed and Ann Larson were Friday evening visitors of Arlen Swedeen.

 

Lola Nelson enjoyed the company of her dad, Larry Keyes of Tucson, AZ this past week.  Larry spent a few days with Lola and then traveled on to the Twin Cities where he spent some time visiting at the home of Lola’s sister, LeaRae Keyes and her husband, Chuck.  He returned to Henry for a few days before leaving early Sunday morning to his home in Tucson.

 

Joan, John and Stephanie Boehnke enjoyed supper out in Henry Saturday evening.  John returned to Brookings on Sunday.

 

Visitors at the Joe and Elsie Young this past week were Jean Lian, Garden City, Kathy Young of Watertown and Wayne Blashill.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger were Sunday afternoon visitors at the George and Georgia Heustess home.

 

Terry and Judy Kos were Sunday evening supper guests at the Brian and Kathy DeJong home in Watertown. Additional guests were Bret and Karen Henricks, John and Liz. The families celebrated Judy’s birthday.

 

Wendell Bruns called on his mother, Violet Winemiller at the Golden Living Center in Clark on Sunday morning.

 

Donna Huntley, stepmother of former resident, Deb Engels passed away this week and funeral services will be held on Wednesday.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger called on Kelby and Toni Goodall and family Saturday evening.

 

David and Jessica Green of rural Milbank were Sunday afternoon visitors at the Terry Kos home. David and Jessica were returning from Huron after Jessica’s softball team, Allbee Construction placed second in the state softball tournament, losing to American Home Mortgage from Watertown.

 

Calling on Dale and Ruth Bludorn Sunday were Ann Aaker, Elkton, Peggy Page, Brookings and Brad and Mandy Maynard, Sydney and Jackson.

 

Joe and Elsie Young spent Friday in Sioux Falls where Joe consulted his doctor.

 

Doris Coyle and Sandy Hoftiezer of Watertown joined Henry friends for coffee Monday morning and also remembered Judy Kos on her birthday.  Later Judy was treated to lunch in Watertown by her daughter, Karen Henricks.

 

Danny and Bonita Sharp spent the weekend camping at Memorial Park. The Sharps reported that it was a beautiful weekend for camping.

 

Former resident, Morris Van Sickle is a patient at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.
