Family members celebrated Dale Bludorn’s birthday on Saturday with an open house. The Bludorn’s also celebrated their wedding anniversary.

 

Barb and Jenna Hartley attended a baby shower in Clark Saturday afternoon honoring Wyat Eugene James, infant son of Darci and Luke James of Lily.

 

Diane Eidsness and Jeanne Fuller attended Arts in the Park in Brookings on Saturday.

 

Joan Boehnke attended the 50th wedding anniversary celebration for Bud and Joyce Temple in Clark Saturday evening.

 

Randy and Lynette Pearce of Wamego, KS, Jerome Nesheim and Melissa Rawlins of Clark, and Paul Johnson and Ikea were Friday evening supper guests at the Ron and Peggy Bastian home. The group helped Amy Pearce celebrate her birthday.

 

The Henry United Methodist Women met on Wednesday evening at the apartment of Betty Keyes in Clark. The ladies discussed the annual Country Fair that is scheduled for September 8th with the theme “125 years of Precious Moments.” The Henry United Methodist Church will celebrate their 125th year on September 30th. Plans and details will continue to be worked out for the commemoration.

 

Terry and Judy Kos visited at the Joanne Berglund home in South Shore on Saturday evening.

 

Mary Hovde of Watertown and Donna Kittelson accompanied Mike and Cheryl Hovde of rural Vienna to Milbank on Tuesday evening and watched Savanna Hovde play ball.

 

Saturday afternoon, Joan Boehnke attended and helped host a baby shower for Darci (Hurlbut) James and her son, Wyat in Clark.

 

Wendell and Alice Bruns visited Wendell’s mother, Violet Winemiller at the Golden Living Center in Clark on Thursday morning.

 

Lois Schoepp went to Huron Tuesday evening and watched her granddaughter, Lindsey Miller play ball.

 

Don and Rose McElroy spent the weekend at the Dave McElroy home in Sioux Falls where they helped celebrate Dave and Becky’s 7th Anniversary.

 

Sunday night supper guests at the Lynn and Barb Hartley home were Anna Hartley of Garden City, Jenna Hartley of Watertown, Jim Hulscher of Goodwin and Adam and Laci Hartley and family.  The group observed the birthday of Lynn Hartley.

 

On Sunday, Joan Boehnke attended the Courier Classics potluck picnic and meeting in Clark.  Joan is the club leader.

 

Vickie Burchatz was a Thursday luncheon guest at the home of her mother, Donna Kittelson.

 

Saturday afternoon, Wendell and Alice Bruns took a carry in supper to the Harlan and Mary Bruns home near Bruce.  Also enjoying the supper were four of the Harlan Bruns’ grandsons, Margie Pearson and Brad and Jodi McDowell.

 

Randy and Lynette Pearce, Wamego, KS, Jerome Nesheim and Melissa Rawlins of Clark, Paul Johnson and Ikea, Jennifer, Tess and Darci Johnson, and Amy Pearce, Ron, Clay and Emily Bastian spent Sunday at Memorial Park.

 

Little Hudson Engels, son of Troy and SeLena Engels was admitted to Prairie Lakes Hospital on Thursday evening and later taken to a Sioux Falls hospital where he underwent surgery to correct a blockage. Hudson is one of the Engel twins that were born on June 24, 2007.

 

Lindsey Martenson of Aberdeen, Barb and Lisa Martenson and Irene Redmond attended the Arts in the Park at Brookings on Sunday.

 

Lois Schoepp visited her sister, Lola Alexander on Saturday at Wookey’s Assistant Living Center in Clark.  Later she called on Janice Kolden.

 

Ron Stern left on Sunday to attended committal services for his brother, Lyle Stern at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD. Linda Stern has been visiting her sister in Arizona.

 

The Henry Fire Department was called to the Rod and Cherie Jans home on Wednesday to extinguish a straw bale fire.

 

Floyd and Donna Kittelson were among those enjoying supper at the Bryan and Cindy Wientjes home in Clark on Sunday evening and helped Spencer Wientjes celebrate his first birthday.

 

Brent and Carolyn Hansen of Carthage, IL are spending time with his mother, Marie Hansen.  Chris Severin of Watertown was also a Sunday visitor.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger and Kelby and Toni Goodall and family enjoyed supper out together in Henry Thursday evening.
