Lois Schoepp and Judy Kos were among those that attended the Community Lenten Worship Services at Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown on Wednesday.

 

Wednesday morning, Wendell and Alice Bruns visited Wendell’s mother, Violet Winemiller at Wookey’s ALC in Clark.

 

Joan Boehnke, Diane Eidsness and Dory Gassman attended the South ECC Band concert in South Shore on Monday evening. Members of the Henry High School band were part of the 215 piece ECC Festival Concert Band. The band, under the direction of Jamestown College band and orchestra director, Benjamin Schneider, spent the day rehearsing and presented an excellent concert in the evening.

 

Ashley and Alice Bruns drove to Huron Friday morning to meet and pick up Amber Bruns from Mitchell who stayed at the Bruns’ home until Monday morning. On the way back from Huron they stopped at Lake Preston and got Erin Bruns who also spent the weekend at the Bruns’ home.

 

Jeanne Fuller and Diane Eidsness attended the Ladies Night Out in Clark on Friday evening.

 

Terry and Judy Kos were Sunday dinner guests at the Bret and Karen Henricks home at rural Waverly.  Additional dinner guests were Brian and Kathy DeJong and family of Watertown, Alen and Debbie Henricks and family and Lyle and Bev Henricks all of rural Waverly.  The families celebrated Liz Henricks’ fourteenth birthday.

 

Alyssa Rhody of Clear Lake and Roxanne Geiger visited with Roxanne’s dad, Louis Gortmaker of Miller in Watertown on Tuesday.

 

Shannon, Donna, Samantha and Sarah Bruns of Watertown were Friday evening visitors at the Wendell and Alice Bruns’ home.

 

Diane Eidsness took Laura Eidsness to Aberdeen on Monday for her interview for the President’s Meritorious Scholarship at Northern State University.  Darlene Audus and Marlou Audus of Clark rode along and visited with Delores Hales and family of Aberdeen.

 

Lois Schoepp was a Tuesday evening coffee guest at the Joan Warnock home.

 

Albert and Gail Kittelson have returned to their home after spending a month in California and several other states.  The Kittelson reported that they traveled 6000 miles and paid as high as $4.00 per gallon for gasoline.

 

Arlen and Joan Boehnke attended the Clark Veterinary Service supper in Clark on Monday evening.

 

Recent visitors at the Joe and Elsie Young home were Howard and Violet Heiden of Watertown, Marty Lantgen of rural Bradley, Wayne Blashill, Lavern Reinhart and Gordy and Loydeen Van Sickle.

 

Don and Rose McElroy visited the Dave and Becky McElroy home in Sioux Falls on Saturday.  They all visited the Sertoma Buttterfly House with Mara and Brenna McElroy.

 

Wendell and Alice Bruns entertained Sandy Heuer and friend with supper out in Henry on Saturday evening.

 

Wilbur and Marlys Johnson of Strandburg and Terry and Judy Kos enjoyed supper out in Henry on Friday evening.  The Johnsons were later coffee guests at the Kos’ home.

 

Friday evening, Joan Boehnke attended and worked at the Clark County Homemakers “Night out for Women.”

 

Myron and Diane Eidsness and family attended the bingo/chili feed for the park fundraiser on Saturday night. Calvin and Lois Schoepp also attended the fund-raiser.

 

Alice Bruns attended the Prairie Lakes Auxiliary Salad Luncheon Saturday noon with her mother, Ann Johnson of Watertown.

 

Joan Boehnke joined her friend, Jan Johnson for supper out in Watertown Tuesday evening.

 

Monty, Marcia and Sarah attended the Willy Mac basketball tournament in Watertown on Friday and Saturday. Andrew Montgomery was a member of the Henry Sophomore team that participated in the tournament. 

 

Kevin and Dawn Berner and family and Brian and Linda Haan all of Watertown were Saturday evening supper guests at the Rodger and Diann Redmond home.

 

Hayley and Travis Goodall spent Friday with their grandmother, Roxanne Geiger.

 

Joan and Stephanie Boehnke attended the fund-raiser for the Henry Park and Rec. Department on Saturday evening.

 

Alice Bruns attended First Methodist Church Service in Watertown Sunday morning where her mother, Ann Johnson was honored by the United Methodist Women for her many years of service at the church.

 

Kelby and Toni Goodall and family and Fain and Roxanne Geiger enjoyed supper out in Henry Friday evening.

 

The Andrew Beld family has moved from their Henry home and the home has been purchased by Logan Svantos of Bryant.

 

Calvin and Lois Schoepp were among Sunday dinner guests at the Steph Raasch home.

 

The Henry United Methodist Women completed plans for a pot luck dinner at the Methodist Church in Henry this Sunday. The ladies are inviting everyone to the dinner.

 

Marcia Montgomery joined Joan Warnock tea on Sunday afternoon.

 

Boyd Joens and Arlen Swedeen are both hospitalized at the present time.

 

Dennis and Barb Martenson and Irene Redmond were Sunday dinner guests at the Ryan and Lindsey Martenson home in Aberdeen.

 

Plans are still underway for the 125th anniversary of the Town of Henry to be held in July. Committee members are looking for old pictures of the Town to be displayed. Anyone with pictures should contact Barb Hartley. The regular meeting for continuous planning will be this Wednesday evening in the Community Center.

 

Donna Kittelson accompanied Rick, Vickie and Kayla Burchatz to the Watertown National Honor Society dinner on Monday evening at the Watertown Event Center . Jordan Burchatz is a member of the Society.

 

 Phyllis Kittelson treated Anita Abraham of Hazel and Donna Kittelson to lunch on Tuesday in celebration of birthdays.

 

Jackson McNeil of Warner was a Thursday overnight guest at the Floyd and Donna Kittelson home.  His parents, Dave and Jackie McNeil visited the Kittelsons on Friday and Jackson returned to his home.

 

Karen Henricks and Judy Kos met Tom Kos of Omaha , NE for lunch on Monday in Watertown . Tom was en route to Fargo , ND .

 

Mary Hovde of Watertown and Donna Kittelson attended the bridal shower for Cassy Dornbusch on Sunday at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Willow Lake . Cassy will become the bride of Taylor Hovde. Taylor is the son of Scott and Connie Hovde of Vienna . Following the shower Mary Hovde and Donna Kittelson visited at the Scott Hovde home.
