Joe Young was taken late Saturday evening by helicopter to the Avera Heart Hospital where he underwent a triple by-pass surgery. He is resting comfortably at this time. Cards may be sent to him at:

Don and Rose McElroy spent Sunday in Sioux Falls where they attended the baptism of their granddaughter, Brenna Jeanne McElroy.

 

Arlen and Joan Boehnke attended the Farmer-Businessman appreciation Banquet in Watertown Thursday evening.

 

Jim and Ilene Ploof of St .Francis, MN spent the weekend with Marion and LeDene Geiger. Saturday evening they all had supper out along with Fain and Roxanne Geiger, Kelby, Toni, Hayley Goodall, Chad and Lisa Purintan, Kellie, Anthony and Matthew, and Lynn Geiger. The Ploofs also visited with nieces and nephews in the area.

 

Jena Johnson, Scott Halling, Alexia and Mitch, Marissa Blais all of Watertown, Breanne Bjerke and Kaleb, and Cokey Johnson attended the Clark County Snow Queen Festival in Clark on Saturday evening.

 

Lois Schoepp visited her sister, Lola Alexander at Wookey’s Assistant Living on Monday afternoon.

 

Joan Warnock, Carol O’Neill and Loydeen Van Sickle were Monday morning coffee guests of Judy Kos.

 

Ron and Peggy Bastian, Virgil Bastian and Melissa Rawlins attended the basketball game on Friday evening at Dakota State University at Madison and watched Emily Bastian play basketball for Dakota Wesleyan of Mitchell.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger enjoyed supper out on Monday evening.

 

On Saturday, Tiffany Millus of Watertown and Lola Nelson and Gwen Benck enjoyed an afternoon of stamping at the home of Linda Florey in Watertown. The ladies used several stamping techniques to make Christmas cards.

 

Loydeen Van Sickle visited Doris Coyle on Tuesday at her Watertown apartment.

 

Hayley Goodall spent Wednesday with Roxanne Geiger.  Alyssa Rhody of Clear Lake joined them for dinner.  In the evening, Kelby and Toni Goodall were supper guests.

 

Calvin and Lois Schoepp were Saturday evening visitors at the Rod and Cheri Jans home Saturday evening.

 

Joe Young underwent triple by-pass surgery late Saturday night at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. He was taken by helicopter after suffering from a heart attack earlier in the evening.

 

Mike and Shauna Lane and family and Dick and Jean Lane met Pat and Amy Jensen and family of Rapid City in Pierre where they spent the weekend.  Mark and Pam Lane and family of Aberdeen joined the families.  Family birthdays were celebrated.

 

Jill Flood of Hazel treated Donna Kittelson to lunch on Wednesday in honor of her birthday.

 

Wendell and Alice Bruns visited Violet Winemiller at Wookey’s Assistant Living in Clark on Thursday morning.

 

            The Henry United Methodist Women met at the church on Thursday evening with Joan   Warnock as hostess. The ladies made preparations for filling fruit baskets at the        December 15th meeting that will be held at the home of Judy Kos.

 

    Rita Hoch and Bonita Sharp called on Betty Keyes in Clark on Saturday morning. They were joined for lunch by Cecelia Brownell. In the afternoon, Joyce Brush of Clark joined the ladies for coffee.

 

Arlen and Joan Boehnke attended the Clark County Snow Queen Festival in Clark Saturday evening. Stephanie Boehnke was a senior contestant and Becca Bjerke was a junior contestant.

 

Bill Baker of Brainerd, MN spent the weekend at the Ron Bastian home and enjoyed some South Dakota hunting.

 

Harlan and Mary Bruns and grandson, Riley Bruns of Bruce were Saturday afternoon visitors and supper guests at the Wendell Bruns home.

 

Bob McElroy of Waterloo, IA and Brian Nicholson and Patti McElroy of Pinckney, MI are spending the Thanksgiving week at the Don and Rose McElroy home.

 

Keri, Kaitlyn and Levi Nelson of Sallisaw, OK spent a few days at the home of their grandmother, Joan Warnock.

 

Stephanie and Joan Boehnke attended the monthly meeting of the Courier Classics 4-H Club in Clark Sunday evening.
