Henry News – July 24, 2006

 

 

The Henry United Methodist Women met at the home of Alice Bruns on Wednesday evening.  Lisa Fuhrer of the Women’s Resource Center was the guest speaker.  The next meeting will be on August 16 at Deb Engel’s new home at Derby Downs in Watertown.

 

The Prairie Star Lutheran Parish youth along with Kailey Eidsness attended NeSoDak Bible camp this past week from Sunday until Friday.

 

Roxanne Geiger and Toni and Hayley Goodall visited Sally Luvaas on Wednesday afternoon.

 

The St. John Circle of St. Henry’s Catholic Church were luncheon guests on Monday at the home of Sara Wanner. The group discussed plans for the up coming Hunter’s Dinner.

 

Mike and Lola Nelson were joined by LeaRae Keyes for a weekend camping trip near Sioux Falls, SD. LeaRae is Lola’s sister from Anoka, MN. LeaRae camped with Mike and Lola while her husband attended his 30 year college reunion in Yankton.  Mike, Lola and Lea Rae enjoyed the Blue Angel’s Air show in Sioux Falls on Saturday. Lola reports that the air show was amazing and it will be a fond memory for years to come.

 

Donna Kittelson enjoyed  the Thursday softball game of Kayla Burchatz in Watertown.

 

Ken and Sally Luvaas drove to Sioux Falls on Saturday and joined Mark, Jessica and Madelynn Luvaas in enjoying the air show commemorating the 60th anniversary of the SD Air Guard.  Ken is a former Air Guard member and Mark Luvaas is a current member. Russell Luvaas of Willow Lake joined the families for supper. They were overnight guests at the Mark Luvaas home at Lennox.  On Sunday morning, Ken, Sally and Russell Luvaas visited Levi Luvaas at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls. They enjoyed watching the final performance of the naval flight demonstration team of the Blue Angels in the afternoon.

 

Marilyn Henning accompanied Judy Kos to a home party at the rural Waverly home of Karen Henricks on Thursday evening.

 

Roxanne Geiger joined Kelby, Toni and Hayley for supper on Thursday evening.

 

Bridgett Wookey of Clark spent Saturday and Sunday night at the Floyd and Donna Kittelson home.

 

Mildred Saboe of Willow Lake, Dale and Emogene Peterson of Vienna and Myron and Diane Eidsness along with other former members and pastors of Prairie Star Lutheran Parish met former Pastors of PSLP, Kris and Krista Ferkin of Pepperell, MA for supper on Wednesday evening. The Ferkins were celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary.

 

Donna Kittelson attended the 16 and under Junior Olympic Slow Pitch Softball tournament held in Watertown on Saturday and Sunday. Floyd accompanied her on Sunday and watched the Agronomics team on which grandson Jordan Burchatz is a member play through the consolation round and finish as champions of the entire tournament.

 

Emily Bastian left on Sunday for Aberdeen where she will begin practicing for the All- Star basketball game to be played this week.

 

Alyssa and Tierra Rhody of Clear Lake and Louis and Mardella Gortmaker were weekend guests at the Fain and Roxanne Geiger home.
