Following the baptism of Connor Wiik at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Henry on Sunday the following were dinner guests at the John and Chelsey Wiik home in Watertown, John Biberdorf of California, Leslie Brenden, Zach and Allison of Florence, Mavis Brenden of Watertown, Bill and Deb Wiik, and Joe and Jen Wiik and family of Big Stone, Tom and Myrna Brenden, Jared and Dylan Brenden and Raymond Biberdorf all of Henry.

 

Rod, Cherie and Taylor Jans attended the Hoffman-Murray family reunion last weekend at Lake Kampeska.

 

Roxanne Geiger enjoyed lunch in Watertown on Tuesday with her dad, Louis Gortmaker of Miller.

 

Kayla, Connor and Adam DeJong of Watertown were Friday overnight guests at the Terry and Judy Kos home and accompanied them to the Crocker Centennial on Saturday.

 

Al and Gwen Benck hosted a “dutch oven” cook out at their home on Friday evening.  Joining them were Mike and Lola Nelson and James, Jessica and Naomi Langdeaux.  Later in the evening the families enjoyed shooting off fireworks with the neighbors on their block.

 

Jim and Ilene Ploof of St. Francis, MN accompanied LeDene and Marrion Geiger to the Henry Alumni Banquet on Saturday evening. The Ploofs spent Sunday at the Geiger home and were treated to a picnic lunch. Other guests were Fain Geiger, Kelby and Hayley Goodall, Chad and Lisa Purintun and family and Lynn Geiger all of Henry.  Roxanne Geiger joined the group following work.

 

Hayley Goodall spent Wednesday with her grandmother, Roxanne Geiger.

 

Clay Bastian and Amy Pierce of Minneapolis spent the Holiday weekend at the Ronnie Bastian home. Amy returned to her home on Wednesday and Clay remained to participate in preparation for the Bastian-Murphy wedding on Friday.

 

Arlen Swedeen joined the LeRay Swedeen family at Lake Kampeska on Sunday afternoon.

 

Harold and Renae Singrey of Hazel and Myron and Diane Eidsness attended the play, “Social Security” Saturday evening in Brookings.

 

Carlos and Anita Abraham of Hazel and Floyd and Donna Kittelson rode the KWAT bus to Minneapolis and attended the Minnesota Twins and Los Angles Dodgers baseball games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

Arlen, Joan and John Boehnke attended the 90th Henry Alumni Association Banquet Saturday at the Henry School.

 

Ken and Sally Luvaas attended the Crocker Centennial Celebration on Saturday. Following the parade they enjoyed visiting with old friends and renewing acquaintances. Russell Luvaas of rural Willow Lake also attended the celebration. Ken, Sally and Russell also attended the Annual First Sunday in July church services at Calvary Lutheran Church of rural Bradley. The church was filled to overflowing. Services will also be held there on the first Sunday of August and September.

 

Chris Soderlund and daughter, Tabatha of Minneapolis spent the holiday weekend with his parents, Mark and Arlet Soderlund. Chris and Tabatha enjoyed the fireworks displayed through out the weekend in Henry.

 

Fain and Roxanne Geiger were Friday evening supper guests at the Kelby and Toni Goodall home.

 

Mike and Lola Nelson have enjoyed the company of their daughter, Jessica, her husband, James and daughter, Naomi at their home since last Thursday as they have moved out of their Brookings home and are preparing for their move to North Carolina.  James leaves on Monday to report for duty after the 4th of July Holiday. Jessica and Naomi will join him as soon as they close on their house in North Carolina.

 

Sunday evening supper guests at the Ron and Peggy Bastian home were Ed, Sandy and Morgan Clausen of Hobart, Indiana, Clay Bastian and Amy Pierce of Minneapolis and Paul Johnson.  Donna Prouty and family were later visitors.

 

Rod, Cherie and Taylor Jans were Sunday evening supper guests at the Jim and Marci Caster home at Clark.  Milo and Janice Kolden of Clark were additional guests.

 

Floyd and Donna Kittelson celebrated an early 4th of July on Sunday and hosted the following for dinner, Jack and Gladys Berens, Mesa, Arizona, Trevor Backus, Overland Park, KS, Dave and Jackie McNeil and family, Warner, Tom and Kathy Wookey and family and Joy Wookey of Clark, Mike and Cheryl Hovde and family, rural Vienna, Bob Thompson, and Rick and Vickie Burchatz and family, Watertown, Cindy Wientjes, Clark, and Ron and Sharon Burchatz of Henry. Mr. and Mrs. Tony Kittelson and family of Baltic were afternoon guests. Penny Thyen and children joined the families for supper. The families also celebrated the birthdays of Bridgett Wookey, Bob Thompson and Tom Wookey.

 

Ron and Linda Stern also attended the Crocker Centennial and meet several members of the Stern family. Nearly all of the Stern children were confirmed in the Crocker Lutheran Church.

 

Cliff and Marilyn Soderquist of Wahkon, MN were Sunday morning visitors at the Arlen Swedeen home.
